Global Standards Meet Local Expertise: Toyota Nigeria's Latest Venture in Vehicle Enhancement

by Oluwatosin Alabi

In a significant development for Nigeria’s automotive sector, Toyota Nigeria Limited has launched a new line of vehicle enhancement products, marking a major leap in the domain of vehicle maintenance. This initiative, unveiled in Lagos, has been realized in collaboration with top global manufacturing firms, responding to the rising customer demand for high-quality vehicle maintenance solutions.

Following the successful introduction of Toyota Genuine Motor Oil suitable for various vehicle engines, this latest venture includes a diverse range of products. Notably, the lineup features Jewelultra Diamondbrite for vehicle cleaning and protection, comprehensive smart repair tools for minor cosmetic repairs, and Mirka’s high-performance abrasives and power tools for professional solid surface work and innovative sanding.

Kunle Ade-Ojo, Managing Director of Toyota Nigeria Limited (TNL), articulated the company’s commitment to pushing boundaries in customer satisfaction at the launch event. “Today marks a new chapter where we extend our offerings to include vehicle body enhancement products. These are designed for those desiring to maintain or enhance the appearance of their vehicles, whether they are new buyers or not,” he explained.

Ade-Ojo highlighted the advantages of the Jewelultra Diamondbrite collection, emphasizing its effectiveness against common vehicular challenges like dirt, UV rays, and acid rain. This treatment, he assured, comes with a guarantee of long-term vehicle protection, thereby boosting resale value and maintaining aesthetic appeal.

On the HBC Smart repair systems, Ade-Ojo noted their role in sustainable vehicle maintenance. These tools extend the life of vehicle parts, reduce waste, and limit the need for extensive repairs. Similarly, Mirka’s products are praised for their environmental consideration, offering durability and a flawless finish in sanding and surface work.

The Duxone and Standox products, as Ade-Ojo mentioned, stand out for their exceptional refinishing qualities. He emphasized their high-end paint technology, which ensures brilliant finishes and durability. Standox, in particular, is celebrated for its color accuracy and eco-friendly design, reducing solvent emissions and offering extensive support and training to users.

The event was also graced by prominent figures from the manufacturing partners. Fadi Medlej, Business Territory Director for Central East Europe, Turkey, Middle East, and Africa at Axalta Coating Systems, expressed his firm’s excitement to partner with Toyota Nigeria, emphasizing their global leadership in auto refinish. Mirka Limited’s Sales Excellence Manager, Tamirat Yigzaw, spoke of the company’s 80th anniversary and its commitment to providing quality solutions that save time and money.

Anand Ramachandran, Business Manager for Refinish Systems in the Middle East and Sub-Sahara Africa (Duxone & Standox), highlighted the mutual benefits of the partnership between the manufacturers and Toyota Nigeria, ensuring value and peace of mind for customers.

The launch, attended by TNL dealers, leaders of the Nigerian Automobile Technicians Association (NATA), and Lagos-based dealers of new vehicle parts and accessories, marks a significant stride in Nigeria’s automotive maintenance landscape, bringing global standards to local shores.
