Following our report of the death of Arise News anchor Somtochukwu,Maduawu, The FCT Police confirmed that she died after falling from the top floor of her Katampe apartment during an armed robbery late Monday.
Police Commissioner Ajao Adewale said officers found Maduagwu unconscious at the scene and rushed her to Maitama General Hospital, where doctors attempted resuscitation. “She was immediately taken to the hospital, but sadly, she could not make it,” he said.

Vigilantes in the compound said Maduagwu jumped from the third floor of the three-storey apartment block after robbers stormed the building. She was discovered unconscious on the ground and later pronounced dead.
Robbery turns deadly in Katampe apartment
The robbers broke into Unique Apartments, a twin complex with 18 flats, according to the police. One private security guard was shot while attempting to resist the attackers, prompting panic among residents.
Police launch probe into armed attack
Adewale said the Deputy Commissioner of Police is leading an investigation team set up to track down the culprits. “No stone will be left unturned until the perpetrators are brought to justice,” he assured, adding that tactical units are already working on leads.
