Yadah FC Signs Five Players to Combat Relegation Threat

New Signings Include Khama Billiat, Rusike, and International Stars

by Adenike Adeodun

Yadah FC, which is currently struggling in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, has made a significant move to bolster its squad. The team, currently in 14th place and just above the relegation zone, has signed five new players in an effort to improve their chances of avoiding relegation.

The club’s star signing, Khama Billiat, has been outstanding. Since joining at the start of the season, Billiat has scored seven goals. However, despite his impressive form, the team’s performance has been inconsistent. As a result, owner Walter Magaya is looking to recruit additional talent.

Among the new arrivals is Tafadzwa “Fire” Rusike, a former Warriors and Caps United star. Joining him is Zambian defender Adrian Chama, who brings significant international experience. The club also secured Burundi midfielder Francis Mustafa, Ugandan goalkeeper Mathias Kigonya, and Nigerian striker Matthew Abel Obinna.

Kigonya, 28, is a seasoned goalkeeper who has previously played in Zambia, Tanzania, and Kenya. His experience includes stints with Trident Football Club, Forest Rangers, Sofapaka Sports Club, and Azam Football Club. Kigonya’s presence should bolster Yadah’s defense significantly.

Chama, 35, joins Yadah from Zesco United. He has 45 international caps with Zambia’s Chipolopolo and has also played for the Green Buffaloes. His veteran experience is expected to strengthen Yadah’s backline.

Mustafa, a 29-year-old Burundian international, has represented his country 10 times, including at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. His club career features notable teams such as Go Mahia and Bugesera FC. His addition is seen as a crucial step for Yadah’s midfield.

Obinna’s background is less well-documented, with limited information available online. However, his performance during trials impressed the Yadah technical team. He is expected to share the scoring responsibilities with Jerry Chipangura, who has shown promise in recent matches.

Rusike, the left-footed winger, comes from Zambia, where he has played for several seasons. Though he was also pursued by Scotland FC, Yadah managed to secure his services. Rusike will be available for Yadah’s home match against Bikita Minerals at Heart Stadium.

The club’s management worked tirelessly to finalize the paperwork for the new signings, aiming to have them eligible for upcoming matches. Yadah’s proactive approach reflects their determination to avoid relegation and improve their standing in the league.

As Yadah gears up for their next fixtures, the club hopes these new signings will provide the boost needed to climb up the table.
