The United Arab Emirates is gearing up for an unprecedented celebration of African culture as the All Africa Festival (AAF) makes its debut in Abu Dhabi. This year’s event, taking place from February 2nd to 4th, 2024, promises to be a landmark edition with a line-up of top African artists, including Omah Lay, Yemi Alade, and Tekno.

The festival, known as the UAE’s largest celebration of Africa’s diverse cultures, has chosen the vibrant Etihad Park in Yas Island as its venue. This setting is poised to enhance the festival’s allure, offering a picturesque backdrop for what’s expected to be a spectacular three-day cultural extravaganza.

The UAE Africa Connect (UAEAC) platform, celebrating the harmonious partnership between the UAE and Sub-Saharan Africa, is collaborating as the strategic partner for the event. This collaboration underscores the festival’s commitment to showcasing the rich tapestry of African entertainment, cuisine, and culture.

According to a report by The Sun, fans are especially excited about the performances of Omah Lay, Diamond Platnumz, Yemi Alade, Eddy Kenzo, Tekno, Skales, Kofi Olomide, and Nora Fatehi, among others. These artists are set to deliver exhilarating performances that embody the spirit of Africa’s vibrant music scene.

Apart from the musical fiesta, festival-goers can look forward to various experiences. The event will feature pan-African cuisine, live art and creative installations, and fashion exhibits from UAE-based designers. These elements are designed to create a mosaic of experiences, paying homage to the spirit of Africa and its diaspora.

Nina Olatoke, CEO and Co-Founder of the All Africa Festival expressed her excitement about the event’s return and the opportunity to showcase Africa’s vibrant entertainment and culture in the UAE. She reminisced about the festival’s growth, from its humble beginnings in Dubai’s Creek Park in 2018 to the iconic Burj Park and now its expansion to Abu Dhabi.

This move to Abu Dhabi is inspired by the UAE’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and culturally diverse society. The growing number of African expats in the UAE further adds to the festival’s relevance and appeal in the region.

The festival is more than just an entertainment event; it’s a testament to the African Renaissance and the global appeal of African creativity. Music genres like Amapiano and Afrobeats are now global phenomena, connecting people worldwide with the unique vibrancy of African culture.

With the All Africa Festival in Abu Dhabi, the UAE continues to establish itself as a melting pot of cultures and a global destination for expats seeking occupational, entrepreneurial, and creative opportunities.
