Yuqing, who has been in Nigeria for six months, expressed her admiration for Nigerian culture and people, citing her positive experiences and local friendships.
Yuqing discussed the visa policies between China and Nigeria, noting that China is actively working to facilitate smoother people-to-people exchanges. She highlighted the recent optimizations in China’s visa policy, making it more accessible and efficient for Nigerian citizens. The Consul General emphasized China’s commitment to fostering strong economic and trade cooperation with Nigeria under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
Addressing concerns about Chinese nationals’ involvement in illegal mining activities in Nigeria, Yuqing stressed the importance of legitimate operations and adherence to local laws by Chinese enterprises. She also touched on the misrepresentation of Chinese companies in the media, advocating for accurate reporting to avoid damaging the collaborative efforts between China and Nigeria.
