In a recent notice made public in Abuja, the Permanent Secretary of the FCT, Mr. Olusade Adesola, emphasized the onus is on property owners to settle their annual rents proactively, without any reminder from the administration.
Adesola highlighted the clause within the Certificates of Occupancy, which mandates land allottees within the FCT to pay their annual rent by January 1st of every year. He further noted, “A breach or failure to meet any of the terms in the Rights of Occupancy may lead to title revocation.”
Specific public institutions and businesses have received a direct request to address their outstanding ground rents within the next two weeks from the release of this announcement. Ignoring this directive may lead to dire consequences for the organizations in question.

- Complete the necessary information and generate the REMITA retrieval reference (RRR) slip.
- Payments can then be made directly through personal accounts or by visiting any commercial bank.
